It's Fall

Finally, proof that we do have Fall, even if it is for only about a week or two. It was so fun shooting this family in the leaves. Shout out to my friend Kizzy for letting me use her house. It was great too because this family is tall (their daughter is taller than me) and Kizzy happened to have a stool outside--so that helps. We tried to pile the leaves, but the kids didn't have a rake but we had fun with what we had. Check it.

Baby boy

That's right--two posts in one day. I'm catching up. Remember this pregnant mama?
Well, that baby finally arrived. And he is one handsome fella. I took all of my background stuff to do the shoot with and I didn't need it. She had a perfect dark chocolate comforter, and all sorts of things to shoot with. And how sweet is this binky shot? love it.

Worth the distance

OK, people learn this. You get your pictures taken MAYBE once a year. So go all out. If I suggest some place and it's far away. Just do it. It's well worth it. Like this place. A distance to drive (only about 30 minutes) But for real--check it out. It's like we can pretend we don't live in Arizona. So as for the shoot-this is the second time I've shot this family. That little boy was non-stop. I think the mom was a little worried we might not have gotten anything. But SURPRISE--there are tons. I wish I could have posted more, but I don't know what she wants for her Christmas card. So this is what you get.

a new path

This couple has been married for a while, but didn't have any pictures of themselves--not even engagement shots. I was stoked, because I have never shot just a couple before. I loved it. Plus I'm friends with them so that made it even better. After following Mammoth Men on their latest adventure, I felt a little more artsy with my post production. A little darker--a little more creativity. It's fun to do something different. And to my lovely subjects--you rocked it.

Twice as nice

Clever title eh? Thank you thank you. This is the second time I've shot this family. They chose the location, and did a fabulous job. It was so fun to shoot down here. And this family is great. The boys are super sweet and so good with their little sister. And mom and dad are foxy--so they make for great pictures too. The little girl brought along her teddy. And he sneaked up on me and jumped in this first shot. That crazy bear.

Take a lesson

This family did exactly what I want families to do. Just chill and have fun. From the beginning they just sat down and interacted. PERFECT. LOVED IT. I had so much fun editing this session. I want someone to capture my family the way I captured theirs. Their little blonde--rocked the shoot. I know during this time of year I rarely put a full family photo on here. But the one I posted here is one of my most favorite shots I've taken of a family. And I figured they probably won't use it for their Christmas card--they have other worthy ones I didn't post. I could chill with this family. Definitely.

No Pressure

So the mom in this family tells me that none of their engagement pictures turned out and it wasn't a good experience. Luckily, she didn't tell me this until AFTER I shot them--or I probably would have been a bit nervous. This family was fun, you could tell they just absolutely adore their little girl. They were so relaxed and we just walked around and shot in places I hadn't shot before. And we got some rocking sun flare. I loved it!

This one took time

Sometimes I get a session that is difficult to edit. This one was difficult. Super difficult. Because somehow--just somehow---this family looks good in every shot I took. But I can't give them everything, it's too overwhelming, for me and for them. Trust me, that's how I used to do it. So this time, I'd find myself going--this one, wait no this one, wait no this one. And then I'd call in my husband and he'd have to help me decide. But it wasn't between a good one and a bad one. It was between a good one and another good one that was slightly different. I tell you--families like this make me look good.
