Beyond Superstar

World, meet one of the most amazing women on the planet. She cooks amazing meals, she installs french doors and fixes broken pipes, and she had this baby at home with no screaming or hysterics. She's A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. And this baby--so juicy delicious. Seriously--if only everyone had a person like her in their lives--I count her as one of my greatest treasures. And I like her husband too (didn't want to leave you out dude.) Top all those things off with gorgeous bone structure--and a toothpaste commercial smile. And after 3 crazy boys (you'll meet them later) she finally got a girl. And looks like she has won her dad over.

I love this baby. And her mother. And the rest of her family. Oh, and I LOVE this shot.

When you find the light

When you find the light--you go with it. The light in this room was ridiculous. And then add the neutral grays, and striped wall and forget about it. I had to do little processing. In fact I would tweak some of them, and then go back to original--because it just looked so right. This is my husband's cousin and his wife. Gorgeous people with handsome sons is like magic. Truth be told--I am not a huge fan of shooting newborns, because I assume I should be putting them in a basket with some sort of blanket or something--and it has never worked for me. But I do LOVE shooting newborn interaction shots. Just parents making those expressions that any other parent would recognize. I love how these turned out.

This first one was shot through the crib slats--and i love the effect.



And there is something about this shot that I kept coming back to. I think it's the way the big brother is touching his hand--there's just something in that moment.



And the way the mom is sitting with her baby--I used to do this--and talk to my babies like she is here



And this one just about makes me want to cry

This is my nephew. Cute fam. How cute is the little girl? For reals. She does this "ooo" thing which I totally got--and that makes me so happy. This shoot was so easy and fun. I love it when it's like that.

New Cousin

My kids are over the moon about having a new baby cousin. And they should be. Look at how cute this baby is.

Creamy

Usually when I post newborns I only post in black and white because their skin tone is so all over the place. But this baby--creamy. Mix him with his mom's creamy skin and it's just lovely. And her hair--gorgeous gorgeous chocolate brown, and I'm pretty sure it's natural. Jealous.

Remember this Shoot I did of the ridiculously foxy pregnant girl? Her baby is super cute. This is my husband's cousin and his wife. It's not shocker that the baby is cute--look at them. My favorite shot is the last one with the stripes. I wanted to post it in color but for some reason the shadows made by his body were yellow, so I had to convert it. Still I'd love a big canvas of my son in a shot like that. I'm considering buying that blanket (Target) just to recreate it.
