Wow! How rare it is to have four generations. I love it. My friend Ashley wanted these pictures of the women in her family and I was so excited to do it. I want to do the same thing this summer with Hy's family. It was the first time I've photographed more than one person at a time and it went pretty well. I learned a lot. I also got to use my friends lens again (which I just purchased and is shipping as we speak--HOORAY!). These are my favorites of the photo shoot, some of my other favorites are on Ashley's blog. Her blog topper is also one of the shots we took. Let me know what you think!
My friend from class lent me her lens, so I tried it out. I loved it! It's a 50 mm. fixed lens with f1.8. Super fun, so I made the girls pose and also took pictures for my friend of her girls in their Easter outfits. I'd also like to point out the debut of my husband--a first time blog entry for him. I still don't have my photoshop, so no borders, but if I waited it would be over a week so I thought I'd use my iPhoto and get them on here. Let me know what you think
My little delicious strawberry. She took a turn at the Mesa Arts Center. She did well too. I promised her lollipops and so she went along with all that I requested. A gorgeous little girl if I do say so myself. I loved so many of them, that is why I uploaded so many, but there were others that were gems as well. Her photo shoot is in two enries-blogger was messing with me last night and wouldn't upload all the pictures so I didn't publish any, then I woke up this morning and 5 of the pictures were published. What???? So make sure to look at both entries. Cheers!
I know what you're all thinking---finally. Well it's hard when I don't have photoshop. The CS3 I want doesn't ship until mid April, and I'm wondering what that means. Anyhow, I had to wait until I could have an open lab at class. So here is our assignment. Color was our focus so among other things (shooting a bowl of white eggs in different lighting with different white balances--boring, easy, but informative), we were given certain focuses. We had to shoot monochromatic pictures, then complementary (opposite color wheel). After that the 5th part of our assigment was to use color as your subject. So here are my results. We have to turn in all six color as subject, then two monochrome and two complementary. Tell me what you think---I really thought this assignment was rather fun.
Hallelujah! Downtown Mesa finally got it together and got a yummy dessert place you can go to at night. That's right I said at NIGHT. So many times Hy and I have discussed how we wanted a dessert . . . gelato . . .or . . . creme brulee . . . or . . . a pastry. But alas, there were no places to go. We always thought downtown would be the best place. Apparently, someone must have been listening in on our conversations. IT'S HERE! Posh Nosh Cafe is on the corner of Center and Main. I took some pictures to prove it. They also have food and it's an internet cafe--who could ask for more? So ladies and gentlemen, let's patronize this joint so it will stay around. Cheers!
My friend Molly and I finally got together and made Strawberry Scones we found on a fun blog. They were ridiculously good and thought we'd show off our new culinary talent.
This is the day I woke up and saw a thin cloud layer and was so so excited. AZ doesn't gift us many of those. So I put my errands to the side, dressed Josie up in her new outfit from Mervyns, and conned her into letting me put pigtails in (she hates two pony tails). So here they are. This girl is the best subject, especially when you bribe her with a treat. Check out the detail on the fountain water--my camera rocks. These are all taken at the Mesa Arts Center-the colors there are awesome. I'm dying to do more.
