Lovin this new family

I am loving this new family I shot. Shoots go by so quickly with older kids--and I don't have to make a fool of myself for a smile.

This family.  Crazy fun.  Mostly crazy.

This isn't me or my daughter.

This isn't me or my daughter, but I wish it was. I love this shot. I want this shot for me--with my girls, all or just one of them. This is actually one of my best friends. Old college roommate just doesn't do justice to what she is. We traveled across the country in her mom's minivan at age 19. That cements things. It's that friend that you might not see in a while, but when you do get together you don't miss a step. Anyhow--they did it right. The dress with the tights and the cardigan--and the gorgeous long hair with the wind blowing it across her face. The mom with the open jacket, leg back just so--the arms linked right.  It just looks--comfortable.  And that is what I love about it.

I love returning families.  I have these clients I call friends that I only see once a year sometimes every other year but I know their children and am connected in a way that is hard to understand.  I love seeing their families grow and their kids get bigger.  It's a great thing to be a part of!

The Fairies of the Forest

Every time we take a trip to the forest for engagements shots two things happen. 1. We run into odd people who try to enforce random "forest rules". And 2. The light fairies turn the light into magic. ALWAYS. I love my new adventures of engagement/wedding photography. This couple was so great. She is cousins with one of my favorite people on the planet so I knew if she had those genes--we were going to get along swimmingly. And we did. And the rains that fell at the end of the summer on the Mogollon Rim made for the BEST--most gorgeous, lush surroundings. Even if we did have to run from the ridiculous swarms of mosquitoes. It was totally worth it. See.

When in a Magical Forest

So when the light comes through a magical forest it sometimes makes things so amazing that it has to be shown--any and every way. As I was trying to enhance this photo--i couldn't decide. Usually when you get a photo in only looks good one or two ways--each image just called for a certain look. But this one--even Straight out of camera I gasped. So lucky to have shot that couple at that spot at that time, with those outfits and that emotion and those colors. So--i thought I'd post them all--because, well, I just couldn't decide.
