Posterity

It's been known to happen that I stay up editing photos and find myself with tears running down my cheeks. Come on, how could I not? I was able to photograph a family reunion and it was so fun. This lady's grandson is best friend's with my husband so I was comfortable being there because I knew people. How beautiful is she? There is a line in an Indigo Girl's song that says

Every lesson learned a line upon your beautiful face

That is how I feel about faces like hers, it makes me sad when I see people get plastic surgery to get rid of lines or aging. Aging is beautiful and with every age spot and line you have, you have a story to tell and that is what makes life beautiful. I asked to take a picture of her hands and she said "these ugly old things" and laughed a bit. Not ugly at all, but beautiful beyond measure. I think any child or grandchild would treasure a photo of their grandmother's hands like I've captured here. Crap, there I go crying again. Anyhow, one of my favorite shots is the one where all of her posterity are in a line behind her. How powerful of an image is that? That last photo is 5 generations . . . . 5 GENERATIONS, that's unreal. These photos show that she is more powerful, successful and valued than the wealthiest person in the world. She is the wealthiest lady in the world, in the things that matter. Enjoy.

p.s. to all of the Lesueur's who are viewing this, I will be posting more. However there are so many of you that there is NO way I can post all of you, so I will be picking at random some shots to post. So don't get your feelings hurt if I don't pick you, it wasn't intentional

Can we take more pictures?

What photographer wouldn't love a kid that asks "Can we take more pictures?" That's what the little boy said to me. And I said --of course. These kids were uber cute. Are you kidding me with these mugs? They were so fun. We headed back down to the Mesa Arts Center, I hadn't shot there in a while. It was fun. The mom brought along their boots, which ended up being my favorite shots. I could have posted all boots shots and loved them all. But I though you might want to see their faces. Here they are! Let me know which is your favorite.

My friend's mom

My friend's mother hired me to take shots of her boys. The youngest one just got home from his mission so she was happy to have them all together. We shot at Freestone Park. There were a load of photographers there. And oddly enough a wedding. I found that to be random--you could picnic or play football next to a wedding. Anyhoodles, it was super fun because I knew she wanted candids--and that is my favorite. So here are my favorite. I love the one of the little girl--she looks like a model, and those eyes--wow.

The rest

Finally I get around to posting these. This is Hy's (my husband) sister. He has mostly sisters and they are all gorgeous. She is the youngest and this is her husband. We've been trying to get together for a shoot, but the holidays were so busy. So we just grabbed some shots while I we were shooting her husband's fam. I loved doing these shots. It's so easy to shoot couples because you don't have to entertain or keep them focused. Oh, and they randomly love Bob Marley, thus the tunes.

Connected

So this is my husband's sister's husband's family. Got it? I was excited to do this shoot because they all have style. It makes pictures so fun to have hip people in it. I got to shoot at a location I've done before, but this time I shot in the morning. I've never done that. We tried some new spots, and I love the results. I'm going to split this one into two posts too. My sister-in-law and her husband showed up early so we took a bunch of shots of them. Then we shot more of them at the end. So I have a boat load of them and I love their shots, so they get their own post. Lucky them. It's always fun to shoot people I know, it makes it easier on them and me. Check it out.
